As a result of chemotherapy my leg muscles degenerated drastically. Walking an hour a day was insufficient. My legs would shake when I stood for too long, my feet and toes would feel bouts of excruciating pain post chemo. My reduced strength, mobility and flexibility left me in despair. The hospital referred me to a rehab doctor and physiotherapist. However much of the advise was climbing stairs and gym work. There was no instruction on proper technique and how to exercise safely whilst regaining strength. Whilst I was motivated, the weekly sessions in the gym coupled with daily exercises at home did not reap much result.
I understood why when I started training with Fabian. Each exercise that was introduced to me, I was coached on the proper technique. Using my own body weight, I could do exercises at home, at the playground or void deck. Fabian taught me to exercise essentially anywhere. I could repeat the weekly exercise sessions on my own during the week. The results are obvious. I am stronger and more nimble than I have ever been. I am motivated by the weekly sessions to keep fit with self exercise in between. I even have enough energy to go back to Zumba and dancing. Fabian has been an essential pillar in my physical strength transformation to date. He is an excellent rehab coach, patient, understanding and tailoring each session to my health status and abilities.
